California native Strickland will be hoping to make his opponent short after going the distance in three of his last four bouts but faces a tough test in the form of South Africa.
Du Plessis has been undefeated in all professional MMA fights since 2018, and hopes will be high for what will be the biggest fight of his UFC career after the former KSW welterweight championship changes hands in 2020.
