Ahead of the UFC’s first visit to Manchester, England since 2016, the main card for UFC 304 has been unveiled.
Dana White already announced that Leon Edwards will defend his welterweight title against Belal Muhammad in the main event of the UFC 304.
Other matches on the card include Tom Aspinall defending the interim heavyweight title against Curtis Blades; Bobby Green v Paddy Pimblett; Muhammed Mokaev vs. Manel Kepe; and Arnold Allen v. Giga Chikadze.
Edwards will be defending his fourth title since winning the welterweight crown from Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. The 32-year-old star is riding a 13-fight unbeaten streak since 2016.
The only fight against Muhammad that did not end in a win for Edwards was in the main event of a March 2021 Fight Night card. The bout was ruled a no-contest when Muhammad was accidentally poked in the eye and incapacitated. to continue
Muhammad is riding his own 10-fight unbeaten streak. His last loss was to Geoff Neal in January 2019.
Aspinal will be making his first defense of the interim heavyweight title. He defeated Sergey Pavlovich at UFC 295 to win the interim championship that was originally going to be headlined by Jon Jones defending the title against Stipe Miocic.
Jones’ injury caused a significant change to the card, with White pitting Aspinall and Pavlovic for the interim heavyweight title.
Blades will challenge Aspinall on March 9 at UFC 299 after a dominant win over Zeilton Almeida. The fight ended in a knockout at 36 seconds into the second round.
This is the first time Blades is challenging for a title in his mixed martial arts career. The 33-year-old is 18-4 with a no-contest in 23 fights.
UFC 304 will take place on Saturday, July 27 on Co-Op Live. This will be the 5th event held in Manchester and the first since UFC 204 in October 2016.
